A milestone month for Seavium: we launched geographic area alerts, reworked vessel intelligence pages end-to-end, shipped major Sonar improvements, and introduced saved searches — plus a full wave of fixes and performance gains across the platform.

April 2026 Platform Update

April was one of our most feature-dense months to date. We shipped across alerts, vessel intelligence, vessel discovery, Sonar, shipowner tools, and broker workflows — while continuing to improve reliability and user experience across the board. Here is what changed.

Area Alerts

We built a live geographic alerting system from the ground up. Users can now draw a circle or polygon directly on the vessel map, save it as a named alert, and receive automatic notifications when vessels enter or leave that area.

A dedicated Alerts dashboard accompanies the feature, displaying active and paused alerts, vessel counts, latest scan results, and full alert history. This gives charter desks and operations teams a passive monitoring layer on top of the vessel map — without manual refreshing.

Saved Vessel Searches

Users can now save, reopen, rename, update, and delete commonly used filter combinations directly from the vessel search interface. Saved searches are accessible from the main search view, reducing friction for teams that run the same queries regularly across their workflows.

Sonar — Upgraded

Sonar received a significant upgrade on both the front and back end. The user experience has been refreshed with a cleaner split-screen layout, real-time search progress updates, structured result tables, and vessel detail previews — covering photos, live position, owner, specs, and quick action links.

Under the hood, we improved matching logic for complex searches, including queries based on vessel specifications and operational constraints. Sonar can now handle more nuanced market intelligence requests with greater accuracy.

Vessel Intelligence — Reworked Profile Pages

Vessel profile pages have been reworked top to bottom. The new layout surfaces photo, live AIS position, AIS status, last refresh timestamp, and downloadable technical specs in a cleaner, faster structure.

The old inspection view has been replaced by a richer Intelligence section covering classification records, inspection history, movements, ownership history, company data, and compliance records — consolidating everything needed for due diligence and pre-fixture evaluation in one place.

Vessel Discovery

Vessel search has been improved with better filters, clearer reset controls, and direct access to saved searches. The view now offers table, card, map, and globe modes, with cleaner map interactions throughout. Search response times and overall filtering reliability have been improved.

Port Pages

Port pages have been reworked with richer data, updated maps, and a closest verified vessels module. This continues the build-out of port-level intelligence started in March.

Shipowner and Broker Tools

Shipowner tools have been improved for reviewing fleet completeness, managing vessel specifications, and viewing fleet positions across the map. On the broker side, charter request browsing now includes search, vessel type filters, and status filters for faster pipeline management.

Sign Up Flow

We added a dedicated sign-up flow and a clearer prompt from the sign-in page for new users — reducing friction for first-time access to the platform.

Platform Hardening

We shipped a steady stream of fixes throughout the month: vessel search and filtering edge cases (including build-year handling), scrolling and display issues in vessel intelligence content, comparison and port page bugs, map interactions, and form input edge cases. General performance, stability, and error monitoring have been improved across the board.

What's Next

We are continuing to expand vessel and port intelligence, deepen AIS coverage, refine Sonar, and improve the end-to-end chartering workflow. More updates coming in May.
