May 2026 Platform Update - Smarter Search, Richer Intelligence & Better Workflows

May was focused on making Seavium more intelligent, more actionable, and more reliable. We delivered a major upgrade to Sonar, expanded vessel intelligence, improved monitoring and alerting workflows, strengthened owner and chartering tools, and continued to improve performance across the platform.

May was focused on making Seavium more intelligent, more actionable, and more reliable. We delivered a major upgrade to Sonar, expanded vessel intelligence, improved monitoring and alerting workflows, strengthened owner and chartering tools, and continued to improve performance across the platform.

Sonar — Major Intelligence Upgrade

Sonar received one of its largest updates since launch.

Natural-language vessel search is now significantly more capable, with improved understanding of vessel capabilities, operational requirements, geographic intent, and structured vessel criteria.

The experience has also been refined with clearer search progress indicators, improved result presentation, better conversation handling, and a redesigned artifact panel that makes it easier to review search results, supporting data, and generated intelligence.

Users can now perform more complex market intelligence searches while receiving faster and more relevant results.

Vessel Intelligence — Richer Vessel Profiles

Vessel pages have been further enhanced to provide a more complete operational view of every asset.

Technical particulars are now easier to read, intelligence sections have been reorganized, and vessel information is presented in a cleaner and more structured layout.

Additional vessel context now includes:

  • Weather information

  • Port call visibility

  • Ownership-related data

  • Classification records

  • Historical information

  • Documentation management

  • Sanctions visibility

We also introduced a dedicated sanctioned vessels view with export capabilities, helping users perform compliance and due diligence checks more efficiently.

Maps, Alerts & Vessel Monitoring

Monitoring workflows became more powerful throughout May.

Map and globe experiences were improved with smarter clustering, smoother navigation, better viewport behavior, and cleaner vessel visualization.

New watchlist functionality allows users to track vessels of interest over time without creating dedicated geographic alerts.

Alert workflows were also enhanced with:

  • Improved vessel-list access

  • Easier alert management

  • Alert renaming support

  • Expanded export capabilities

  • Additional fleet context inside notifications

Several monitoring workflows now include direct contact actions, helping teams move from intelligence to execution more quickly.

Shipowner & Chartering Workflows

May introduced several improvements for vessel owners and commercial teams.

Vessel owners can now manage additional vessel information directly through the platform, including availability data and operational updates.

On the chartering side, we expanded support for:

  • Anonymous charter requests

  • Organization-based workflows

  • Company role management

  • Vessel creation from IMO-based workflows

These changes continue Seavium's goal of reducing friction between vessel discovery and commercial engagement.

Reports, Documents & Exports

Reporting capabilities were significantly expanded.

Users can now generate more complete exports and comparisons across multiple workflows, including:

  • Larger vessel comparison reports

  • Improved comparison PDF exports

  • Map and card-view PDF exports

  • Sanctioned vessel exports

  • Improved document organization across vessel intelligence sections

Print formatting and report readability have also been improved to support operational and commercial reporting.

Platform Performance & Reliability

Throughout May, multiple infrastructure and platform improvements were deployed behind the scenes.

These updates focused on:

  • Faster platform responsiveness

  • Reduced CPU usage

  • Improved monitoring and error tracking

  • Session reliability improvements

  • Fresher AIS and vessel intelligence refresh cycles

  • Dependency and infrastructure upgrades

Several foundational components were also introduced to support future features, including fleet widgets and reusable action systems across the platform.

What This Means for Users

By the end of May, Seavium became significantly stronger for:

  • Vessel discovery

  • Market intelligence

  • Fleet monitoring

  • Compliance checks

  • Reporting and exports

  • Owner-managed vessel availability

  • Chartering workflows

The most visible improvements were the upgraded Sonar experience, richer vessel intelligence pages, enhanced monitoring tools, expanded exports, and improved owner workflows.

More vessel intelligence, AIS capabilities, automation features, and chartering tools are already in development for June.
